In my little closet-office (IYKYK), as the clock flips to another day just past midnight, there’s a sense of raw exposure lingering in here —the kind that comes after you’ve tipped your hand, showing all your cards. The very first episode of "Belonging is a Verb" is finally off to to be edited. After 9 long months, the real countdown begins now, with a release date in the next two weeks. And it's real; guests are lined up, which means there's no retreat back into this dreamer's shell.
I must confess, the stage before the leap has always been where I've been most comfortable. "Sitting in the potential"—what a cozy place it is, surrounded by the 'could-bes' and bolstered by the countless supporters I’m so lucky to have. In that space, failure is nothing but a shadow, always out of reach, and everyone is a believer in the magic I might spin. But tonight, I crossed that threshold, trading the comfort of 'could' for the determination of 'will.'
Launching this podcast, carving out this space where we can unwrap the stories of resilience, and moments of triumph, is more than a venture—it's a new chapter. And yes, I'm unabashedly thrilled to share it with you—to collect your stories, to weave them into the rich tapestry of our collective experience. Together, we're going to dive into the definitions of inclusive leadership and hear from the leaders that inspire us. But still, I’m shaking….
While I'd love to divulge every detail of the first episode, let's keep a bit of mystery – consider this a preview with opening night closing in quick. But just between us, it involves a lyric that's close to my heart, and a story of a leader who showed me self-worth in the depths of doubt.
So, as I nurse this vulnerability hangover – a small price for leaping into the unknown – I invite you to stay tuned, to join me in this space where we'll laugh, learn, and perhaps shed a tear or two, but most importantly, where we'll grow together.
Here’s to stepping out of potential and into the bright shining lights of doing. Thank you for being here, for believing in this journey, and for waiting on the edge of your seats. Trust me, the wait will be worth it.
Stay tuned, and more importantly, stay connected.
With anticipation (and a little bit of butterflies),
This is so exciting, and such a natural fit for you. You have so much to share and are an incredible vessel of support for others to share their stories.
So excited to hear the pod and watch your journey. Bask in the the vulnerability hangover and be proud that you belong to the select few individuals who are brave enough to take that step. As uncomfy as it is, not many are fortunate to experience that feeling.
You're an inspiration and you have so much support.
Sounds exciting, looking forward to hearing it in action! 🍀🍀🍀
